Oct 20, 2009, 8:03 AM | Article By: Cherno O. Bobb

Luzan FC are sailed to the ongoing Serrekunda West knock-out championship tournament, following their 8-7 win over Jeshwang United FC in a post match penalty shoot-out, after 1-1draw in the regular time of play at the Serrekunda West Mini Stadium last Sunday 18th October 2009.

It was not an easy road for both sides as they launched a series of assaults in each other's goal line. But it was Luzan FC who opened the score sheet through Alpha Jallow in the 26th minute of the game from a brilliant strike. Jeshwang United FC fought hard and created some clear golden opportunities, but failed to capitalise on their limited scoring opportunities, and thus the first half ended 1-0 in favour of Luzan.

As action resumed in the second half, Luzan FC really missed their rhythm and allowed Jeshwang United FC to control the game and created several chances.

They eventually levelled the scores through Pa Sulay Shona in the 59th minute of the game which pushed into a post match penalty shoot-out which ended 8-7 in favour of Luzan FC.

In a similar development, Abuko United FC lost to Canon FC 4-3 in a penalty shoot out after 0-0 draw in the normal play at Serrekunda East Mini Stadium in the ongoing Serrekunda East knock-out championship.
