Justice Emmanuel Nkea of the Special Criminal Court yesterday ordered the prison authorities to ensure that the appellant, Lawyer Lamin K. Mboge, is allowed to see a dermatologist at the RVTH or any other government medical facility for urgent medical attention.

He said a copy of the court order be served on the prison authorities at Mile 2 prison, and the order be carried out forthwith.

Justice Nkea then adjourned the matter till 16 Friday 2012, for the hearing of the appeal.

The case was in respect of the bail application filed by Lawyer Mboge at the high court in Banjul.

When the case was called Tuesday, the Director of the Public Prosecutions, M Abdoulihi, told the court that he was just served with the records of proceedings at the lower court, and needed time to study the file for one week.

The leading defence counsel, Miss Ida Drammeh, opposed the application made by the DPP, having regarded the fact that the DPP was in court, adding that the request was not satisfactory.
