The opening game, which will feature two household names Sateba FC and Saranbell FC, is described by many football fans in Sifoe and environs as a crunch clash.
The tournament is organised by Sifoe Sports Committee in the memory of former chairperson of Kombo South District Sports Committee, late Lamin Janneh, who passed away few months ago after a brief illness.
Janneh has contributed immensely towards the development of football in Sifoe and Kombo South before his shocking demise.
Janneh was behind the formation of Sifoe United FC, who are currently plying their trade in the West Coast Regional third division, and also helped Sifoe to clinch Kombo South District football tournament three times consecutively.
Janneh also represented Kombo South District Sports Committee in the West Coast Regional Football Association (WCRFA) before his passing.
