Major League Soccer leaders, Los Angeles Galaxy silenced Sanna Nyassi's Seattle Sounders in a solid destructive 3-1 win, at the Home Depot Centre.
The Gambia international sat on the bench when his Seattle club, who were seemly confused and scattered on the pitch couldn’t find their bearings, as they surrendered corner kicks to the Galaxy almost every other attack.
In the 20th minute, the Sounders gave up another corner kick to the home team. American hero Landon Donovan took his mark and rounded it into the area where fellow international Edson Buddle redirected off his head into the net to give Galaxy the lead.
Edson Buddle had not scored a goal since May 1, as he missed time from the Galaxy with international duties, but Sunday night he decided to go back to his scoring ways.
Early in the second half, Juninho from downtown, fired in a long-distance shot, marking his first MLS career goal.
Seattle Sounders started to rally back, cutting the lead in half from a Steve Zakuani goal in the second, but their comeback attempt was saddened when a Sounders own-goal broke their spirits.
