The Kombo South District Sports Committee familiarization tour to all the villages in the district finally kicked off at the weekend.
As part of the tour, the KSDSC executives visited Kartong, Berending, Madina Salaam, Gunjur and Sambuyang respectively.
The tour was meant to meet Akalolous, sports committees and village development committees in the district.
Speaking at a meeting held in Kartong, the Alkalo of Kartong Village, Alhagie Demba Jabang, hailed the KSDSC for the familiarization tour, saying he was really delighted with the KSDSC for embarking on familiarization tour to all the villages in the district.
Alkalo Jabang thanked the KSDSC for solving the squabble between the youth and Kartong sports committee.

The chairperson of Kartong Sports Committee, Abdoulie Balo Manneh, appreciated Kombo South District Sports Committee for embarking on familiarization tour to all the villages in the district.
The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Kartong Sports Committee, Assan Badjan, called on the Alkalo and villagers to rally behind Kartong town team for the 2013-2014 the late Kajali Badjie and the late Ismaila Nyassi Kombo South district football tournament.
Badjan challenges KSDSC to form Kombo Sillah team that will represent the district in the GFF first division league, saying that would aid them to develop football in the district.
The chairperson of the KSDSC, Lamin Janneh, said the familiarization tour was meant to meet with villagers in the district after their election into office at the elective congress last month.
Chairperson Janneh challenged the villages to sensitize their fans ahead of the forthcoming district football tournament set to kick off next month to register a trouble-free district football tournament.
The 1st vice chairperson of KSDSC, Bakary Bojang, urged the Alkalo and Village Development Committee (VDC) to help Kartong Sports Committee with a football field.
The Secretary General of KSDSC, Omar Jammeh, said the late Kajali Badjie and Ismaila Nyassi Kombo South district football tournament set to commence on 1 March 2014.
Gunjur, Tujereng and Jambanjelly football fields will be hosting the games during the tournament.
Jammeh added that they also wanted to organize sports jamboree but had to call it off because of financial constraints.
The Social Secretary of the KSDSC, Amadou Sowe, said sports prevent the youth from drug abusive and other related issues.
Speaking at a meeting in Berending, Lamin Botto Jatta said they want to concentrate on the regional league, adding that they are not preparing to participate in the upcoming Kombo South District Football tournament due to problems encountered last season.
