Koko FC on Wednesday defeated Jamtan FC 3-2 on post-match penalty shoot-out, after the normal time of play ended 1-1 in the knock-out stage of the on-going Serrekunda West Nawettan qualifiers at Park Gi Jola Football Field.
In the opening minutes of the first half, both teams put up respectable performance but minutes later Jamtan FC were like woundered-lion and mounted pressured on Koko FC defence line by creating dead opportunities only for their number 11 to give his side the lead in the 21st minute.
This lead was swiftly cancelled, courtesy of Koko FC left back Abdoullah Bass whose long range pass that felt to the legs of fellow team mate Aruna Camara only for him to levelled the score to 1-1 before the break.
As play resumed for the second half of the game, both teams struggled in maintaining ball possession and creating scoring chances. While play continues with both teams determine to win and advance to the next stage. Koko FC flank player Muhammad Ceesay made an individual effort to put pressure on his opponent's defence line, but the final whistle left the score 1-1.
As the game proceeded to extra time to produce a winner, the two teams playing with tied legs created some gilt mouth chances, but failed to capitalise on the scoring opportunities resulting in the match to post penalty shooting and subsequently Koko FC won by 3-2 from the spot.
