David Haffner Back as Armitage Principal

Mr. David.A.Haffner who once served the school for twenty-four years, climbing the ladder from a senior master, vice principal to the principalship, has bounced back as the principal of the school recently.

Speaking to this reporter shortly after the handing over ceremony, Mr. Haffner revealed that for the past three years the school has experienced a lot of developments, thanks to the outgoing principal Mr. Ebrima Joof.

According to him despite all the efforts made by Mr. Joof, there still needs things to be done. He further pointed out that the first thing to do is to sensitise parents and guardians about the life of ArmitageSchool, then academics, and feeding respectively.

Mr. Haffner further explained that ArmitageSeniorSecondary School is the only government boarding school in the country and as such it has its own culture and tradition and its legislative structures that govern the school, such as the Seyfo, Alkalos, Councilors and Room leaders, who are all answerable to the administration head.

He then appealed to the Government, NGOs, WFP, Ex-students to support in the area of fencing, feeding, provision of computers, repair of the 40-passenger bus and a road utility vehicle for the administration.

For his part, Mr. Ebrima Joof, the outgoing principal, welcomed Mr. Haffner to his old school and to the town as whole. "Since I inherited the school in 2006, I brought a lot of developments in the school ranging from infrastructure, supply of mattresses, furniture, mosquito nets, scholarship package and established national and international links. He then thanked the Government for the continuous support and special thanks to GPA, UK friends, and community of Janjangbureh for their unflinching support," he added.
