President Yahya Jammeh, “in a show of African solidarity”, has given US$500,000 to the people of Guinea Conakry as Gambia‘s contribution towards the fight against the Ebola virus disease outbreak.

A press release issued by the presidency in Banjul said “that the Central Bank of The Gambia has effect the transfer of a generous donation of US$500,000 to the appropriate authorities in Conakry, Guinea, to help in the fight against Ebola”.

It could be recalled that President Jammeh has previously extended similar donation to President Koroma and the people of Sierra Leone to help in the fight against the deadly Ebola virus disease.
