News monitored from the GRTS last evening has indicated that President Yahya Jammehhas appointed Abdou Salam Secka as Minister of Trade, Regional Integration and Employment with effect from 18 March 2011.
Mr. Secka until his appointment was the Chief Executive Officer of the Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI).
Meanwhile, in another development, the President and Commander in Chief of the Gambia Armed Forces have redeployed Brigadier General Seringe Modou Njie to Army Headquarters as Chief of the Republican National Guard with immediate effect.
A media dispatch from the presidency revealed that the President has also appointed Lt Colonel Alhagie Martins as commanding officer at State Guard.
