United Volleyball team on Saturday defeated UNICEF Volleyball team 3 sets to 1
in the opening game of the Brikama Youth and Sports Committee (BYSC) Volleyball
Tournament played at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium Volleyball Courts.
The game, played with brilliant exhibition of skills and talent by both sides, attracted large crowd from Brikama and its environs but it was Jaliba United who carried the day after their resounding performance over their counterparts UNICEF in the opener.
The tournament is the first of its kind organised by the BYSC to promote and develop volleyball in Brikama as well as to scout out good volleyball players to represent Brikama in competitions in the near future.
The opening ceremony was graced by the president of The Gambia Volleyball Association, Musa Cassa Taal, and other dignitaries.
