A two-day training course for Arabic Islamic teachers in the Greater Banjul Area recently ended at New Yundum in Kombo North, Western Region.
The training course was organised by the Al-Nsar organization, and brought together 25 teachers with the aim of discussing problems faced by Islamic teachers in their profession.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, the head of Omar Bun Khatab Islamic School, Oustass Abdoulie Camara, underscored the significance of the training course.
He stressed that the retreat would go a long way in upgrading their teaching methodology in schools.
Camara revealed that the training session had created a peaceful atmosphere in sharing ideas and learning skills.
He hailed Modou Lamin Touray for giving support to religious teachers, and urged him to continue rendering support to the Arabic Islamic teachers.
For his part, the head of Bartez Islamic, Muhammed Sillah, said teaching Islamic studies is important noting that the training they underwent would aid the participants in their teaching career.
He thanked one Modou Lamin Touray for his contribution towards the development of Islamic education in the country, and urged others to emulate him.
