Founded in December 2004, JYFCA is aim at promoting mutual understanding, respect and honor between and amongst its members in particular and youth within the town in general.
Speaking to the youth forum yesterday, Mr. Mustapha Jatta Chairman YJFCA said his association also aim at creating opportunities for it members and promote environmental sanitation by mobilizing community members to engage in community services.
He added that they also contribute to the social, religious, educational and cultural progress of the town. "We also aim to create a forum where the problem of the town can be heard and solutions to identify community development projects in the interest of the town" he noted.
JYFCA chairman used the opportunity to express their dissatisfaction with certain individuals for what he called failing to recognise them as a bonofied association of Janjangbureh. "We want a fair treat from all and we also want the people of Janjangbureh to directly benefit their local resources especially the youths.
For his part, Alhagie Jammeh, Secretary General of JYFCA said they are a credible association registered with the Anthony Generals Chambers and National Youth Council. Commenting on their achievements Mr. Jammeh said they have registered tremendous successes such as a memorial trophy in 2005 in honor of the late Jai Saidy, Satang Jorbateh and Janko Ceesay. Tree planting, cleansing exercises, community sensitization and out reach programs, skills training on paper recycling for its members, awarding of scholarship to its members to study information technology. "We have also donated sporting and educational materials to schools in Janjanbureh" he said. Mr. Jammeh appeals to the authorities concern to help them an area in the town where they can have an Eco tourism centre and also to give the liberation triangle in Janjanbureh to revive and manage.
