Interior Female Volleyball team on Friday 23rd July 2010 defeated Brikama Female Volleyball team by three sets to two sets in the National Volleyball League Championship, at the Gambia Senior Secondary School Volleyball Lawn in Banjul.

Pa Baboucarr Barrow, the Head Coach of Brikama after the game, said they should have won the game, but he noted that "Interior with all their players were just lucky to carry the day." As he put it, his players were negligent during the game.

Coach Barrow also said that some of his players are beginners in the game and lack the experience, compared to Interior. As he put it, "some of my players this is their first time playing, compared to Interior's players."

He said they would wait for the side in their home ground for the return league to also overcome them.

He also expressed confidence that if his team did not win the league they would have come out second position at the end of the championship.

Alagie Ceesay, the Head Coach for Interior congratulated his players for giving him the maximum three points, which he said, was his main target for the game.

“Brikama put up a very good fight and forced Interior to first to fifteen points during the game. They need a tap on the back," he pointed out.

Nature as he is widely known stated that they would prepare well for the next game to give it a respectable performance, adding that if he can win two more key games there is nothing that can stop him from lifting the trophy.

He also stated that his team is on the right target for the title hunt after playing three games and collecting maximum nine points.
