Lamin Jammeh, coach of Interior FC, has attributed his side’s 2-0 defeat to Bakau United in the week nineteen Saturday encounter of the Gambia Football Association (GFA) 1st Division League played at the Serrekunda West Mini-stadium to fatigue.
“We played badly today because of fatigue in our players and that is why we lost to Bakau United,” he said. “This is not the normal way my boys use to play but that if you are fatigued there is nothing you can do about it.”
Dugal, as he is commonly called, added: “It is not all over until all is over because we still have days to recover and you cannot tell because any team can be relegated.
“We came here to collect a point or go away with the three points but we are going back to prepare well again for our next game.”
After doing their homework, he said, they would put up a good team and good performance in their next game against Real De Banjul, though it won’t be an easy encounter.
Kebba Touray, head coach of Bakau United, said he was very much excited about the win considering their standing on the league table and the struggle they went through in their past two games.
“In all our games we do create chances but looking at our team we have young players and we are working on them and today we were relaxed that this is why we conceded those goals,” he noted.
“We respect Brikama United but we still need that game because we don’t want what happened to us last year to happen to us this year again. We have also been working on the mental pressure of the players.”
The Bakau United coach added: “We are fighting to avoid relegation and they (Brikama United) are fighting for the league title; so it is going to be an interesting game.”
