As part of efforts to strengthen its tentacles, The Gambia Football Coaches Association, the umbrella body in charge of all football coaches in the country, is encouraging interested coaches to register with the association, geared towards forming a more vibrant unit in the development of football in the country.

Speaking to Pointsports, Pa Suwareh Faye, president of the GFCA, pointed out that the registration of interested coaches with the association will be strongly discussed during their Sunday general meeting at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

"Our membership is open to all football coaches in the country. You only need to pay a membership fee of D200, with two passport sized photos and D25.00 for the form," he explained.

The weekend meeting, he said, will also look into the training of new members.

The Gambia Football Coaches Association recently concluded the training of 20 coaches in Berending in Kombo South.

It will be recalled that during their annual general meeting, held last month, the coaches association pointed out that among their constraints is that The Gambia Football Association has not recognised the Football Coaches in the GFA constitution making it impossible for the GFCA to take certain decisions against coaches in The Gambia as some operate in the country without being members.
