In Late Famara Jatta’s Memorial Tourney, coaches express views

In the 2012 Late Famara Jatta Memorial football tournament, which kicked off last Friday at the Serrekunda Mini Stadium where coaches from different banks expressed their views after the end of the matches that took place both at Serrekunda East Mini Stadium and the Father Gough Sport Complex, played on Saturday.

Coach Lamin Sillah of Central Bank, who spoke to this reporter, expressed his delight for what he said was a great performance delivered by his boys.

He said that defeating a counterpart by 2-0 at the opening of the tournament was a remarkable achievement and urged his boys to keep up the momentum.

He further revealed that his boys could have done much better but he is still fine with their performance and hope to take over the trophy at the end of the tournament.

For Jaja Cham, coach of Bank PHB, they came with the optimism of leaving with the victory and could have made it when so many opportunities came their way, which Central Bank utilised.

He further promised to work much harder to win their upcoming game.

Speaking to The Point, coach Assan Kujabi of ICBank, said he planned the match before coming, which posted him at a greater advantage in defeating his opponent by 3-1 at the end of the game which took place at the Father Gough Sports Complex Manjai on Saturday.

He further revealed his optimism in winning in his upcoming game.

For his part, Ensa Saidy, captain of AGIB, who spoke on behalf of his head coach, said they lost that game to their counterpart due to ineffective training, which was due to the nature of their work but will surely make it in their next match.

He also urged his colleagues to work collectively.
