Reports reaching this paper have it that unknown persons on Wednesday smashed the back screen of a Ford Excursion car with registration number BJL 9474 E belonging to Imam Muntaha Faye at his Bijilo residence.
Speaking to this reporter yesterday morning, Mrs. Mariam Faye, second wife to Imam Faye, said they could not still ascertain who the culprits are, as they were not aware when they struck.
"We only knew of the incident in the early hours of Thursday morning, when we woke up only to see the back screen smashed. This is really a big surprise to all of us in the compound and, to our dismay, nothing was taken from the vehicle.
According to her, the act was done out of malice, adding that the attackers' entry into the compound was also a surprise to them, as the compound's gate was not opened.
Imam Muntaha Faye said he was not in his compound, at the time of the incident, and the information was passed to him by one of his wives, Mrs. Bintou George Faye, through a phone call.
"I was disappointed when I heard of the incident, and I cannot remember personally causing harm to anybody that warranted this incident," Imam Faye said.
He added that he is only capable of helping people, but not to make them uncomfortable in life, and called on the perpetrators to put a stop to such acts, as they might be caught one day.
