Illegal Cutting of Trees Lands Men in Court

Ousman Kanteh and Sulayman Sankareh recently appeared before Magistrate Pa Harry Jammeh of the Brikama Magistrates' Court, for illegally falling down trees contrary to the forestry act.

According to the particulars of offence on or about the 15th May 2009, at Tujereng State Forest Park, the accused persons were found falling down of trees without authority from the Forestry Department.

When the charge was read to them, both pleaded not guilty andwere granted court bail in the sum of D5000 each.

The case was adjourned to 28th May 2009.
