The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) has said in a press release that it would now commence the General Registration of Voters on Thursday 5th May 2011 and end on Friday 17th June 2011.
The Commission said that the decision to move the date from its earlier scheduled date, that is, Monday 2nd May to Sunday 12 June 2011 was as a result of unforeseen circumstances.
The release added that: "The new timeline caters for 44 days for registration as oppose to the earlier one of 42 days."
