Barely three months before the 2012 African Nations Cup qualifying rounds commences in early September, Paul Put head coach of the Gambia senior national football team, the Scorpions, has said he will do everything possible to make sure the senior national football team qualifies for the 2012 Nations Cup to be co-hosted by Equatorial Guinea and Gabon.

The Belgian tactician, speaking in an interview with reporters recently, said he is satisfied with the level of preparations for the 2012 Nations cup qualifiers.

However, he was aware of the fact that the team needs to play more test games in order to put in place a formidable side for the qualifiers.

Paul used the opportunity to hit back on the claim made by the head coach of Namibia, who rated the Scorpions as underdogs, by saying that he and his Gambia team would try everything possible to prove the Namibian coach wrong by collecting the desire results, when the two sides rub shoulders in the qualifiers.

Coach Put added  that the Gambia senior national team will not be underdogs in the forthcoming African Nations Cup qualifiers, and went further to express optimism that his team will make it to 2012 Nations Cup.
According to the coach, he will make President Jammeh and the entire Gambian population happy during the qualifiers, while urging the generally public to support the team, both morally and financially, so that they can perform to expectations in the qualifiers in September 2010.
