Twenty hotel workers from 18 hotels recently received a four-day training on customer service delivery, as part of enhancing quality of service provided by the hotels
Organised by the Gambia Hotel Association (GHA) and sponsored by the National Training Authority (NTA), the training was held at the Djeliba Hotel in Kololi.
Speaking in an interview with journalists after the official opening ceremony, GHA Chairman Marcvan Maldegem, who is general manager of Kombo Beach Hotel, thanked the GHA for organizing the training for hotel workers, saying it would enhance the capacity of the participants and their hotels to deliver better services to customers.
“We are expecting more tourists to come to The Gambia, therefore this training is very important in sharing our experience about the destination,” he said.
The GHA chairman told journalists that his association is out to give regular training to their employees on key areas that would expose them and improve their knowledge to meet the expectations of their customers.
Marcvan Maldegem called on the participants to put the knowledge gained from the training into good use, by also disseminate it to others who could not be part of the training.
He thanked the NTA for sponsoring the training.
Mariama Jatta, from NTA, thanked all the participants for taking part in the course, saying the importance of customer service delivery could not be over-emphasized, while urging the participants to put the knowledge gained from the training into good use.
