The relegated Hawks Football Club of Banjul will today lock horns with Serrekunda East FC in the Gambia Football Association (GFA) 2009/10 FA Cup competition at the Serrekunda West Mini-Stadium today.

The Red Devils, Hawks, who were demoted to the second tier league after strings of unimpressive performance in last year’s GFA first division league championship, are facing what seems to be the biggest test for the capital city club.

The team under the guidance of the former coach of the Gambia national Scorpions, Sang Ndong, will be setting their sight firmly on regaining their lost glory when they meet second division outfit Serrekunda East today.

The FA cup competition began in style with Tallinding United collecting all the needed points at the expense of Latrikunda United with a 1-nil score-line at the Serrekunda East Mini-stadium courtesy of Halifa Jarra’s16th minute goal.

Latrikunda United hope of equalizing was dealt a heavy blow with the sending off of the team pair Alieu Danso and Mustapha Trawally for arguing with the central referee.

On the same day at Farafenni, Upper Badibu lost to Serrekunda United on post-match penalty shootout after the game ended 0-0.

In Kerewan, on the same day, Adwac FC defeated Flamemins FC by 3 goals to 1.

Elsewhere on the same day at Soma, Waterman FC beat Jarra West FC by 2-0.

Tallinding United will now take on Lamin United on Saturday 18 December 2010 at the Box Bar Mini-stadium in Brikama.

On Saturday 18 December 2010, relegated Seaview will clash with Waterman FC in the other FA cup fixture.

At the Serrekunda East Mini-stadium, on the same day, Young Africans FC will take on Serrekunda United while Banjul United will clash with Africell FC at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on the same day.

Adwac FC will battle it out with Nema United on Sunday.
