Haruna
Cham, Secretary General of the Gambia Handball Association, was on Saturday 15
October 2016 elected as Secretary General of Africa Zone II Handball
Federation.
Cham
confirmed his election on his Facebook account.
Confirming
the news on his Facebook account he said: “I have just been elected as the
Secretary General of the Zone 2 handball family held in Guinea Conakry.”
He
further said, the day is an “important date in my life”.
He
also thanked all those who have been praying for and supporting him over the
years.
Cham
was appointed by The Gambia National Olympic Committee (GNOC) as the chef de
mission (CDM) for the recently concluded Rio de Janeiro’s 2016 summer Olympic
Games.
A
bureau member of the GNOC, Cham served as liaison officer between GNOC and the
Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the Brazilian Games.
As
CDM, Cham also coordinated all the Games protocols on behalf of the National
Olympic Committee.
