'Hands for others' donates medical items

'Hands for Others', a Non-Government Organisation recently donated a large consignment of assorted medical equipment and medicine to the Essau Health Centre in North Bank Region.

Elayne Blackburn, one of the founding members of the organisation expressed delight at the gesture and promise that they will be bringing more items in the near future.

 Ngally Abubakarr Sambou, the Regional Health Director at Essau, who received the donated items expressed delight, saying that words were inadequate to thank them. He thanked one of his co-workers Fabakary Bass for bringing such people to their centre.

Rev. Fr. Ben, the organisation's local contact person,revealed that there are five Gambia College students, including over 20 school-going children that Sadie Doyle, John Doyle, Sharon Doyle and Elayne Blackburn have been sponsoring.

"It is our home we need to equip our hospital to help others," Mr & Mrs. John Doyle echoed similar sentiments.
