Gunjur will rub shoulders with Sanyang in the first semi final of the ongoing Kombo South District Football Tournament tomorrow Saturday 23rd September 2011, at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium.
Sanyang defeated Gunjur 1-0 in the semi final of the 2000 Kombo South District Football Tournament and Gunjur will come all out for revenge this time round in order to capture a place in the final.
Sanyang who lost to Kartong 2-0 in the 2008 Kombo South District football tournament will be hoping for a victory in order to secure a place in the final.
This most anticipated semi final game described by many football fans in Kombo South District as a mouth-watering clash.
Gunjur progressed to the semi final after thrashing Banyaka 2-0 in the quarter final clash, courtesy of Bakary Daffeh alias Kanu and Dodou Saine respectively, while Sanyang booked their ticket to the semi final after beating Tanji on the same score line, in their quarter final with goals from Saidibou Bojang and Abdou Bojang alias Sula respectively.
Tujereng will meet Sifoe in the second semi final game at the Gunjur Nyamina Football Field on Sunday.
Sifoe sailed to the semi final following their hard fought 1-0 win over Jambanjelly in the quarter final, courtesy of Buba B. Sambou, while Tujereng advanced to the semi final after a slander narrow 1-0 victory over Berending in the quarter final courtesy of Basiru Touray alias Cesc Fabregas.
