week-four fixtures played at the Gunjur Nyamina Football Field to snatch top
spot in the 2014 West Coast Region third division league.
Winger wizards Malang Jassey Uncle aka Chicharitto, Alagie Sarr alias Asarr and prolific striker Bubacarr Janneh Cesc Fabregas aka goal machine were on target for Gunjur United.
Saturday’s 3-1 win over New Yundum has earned Gunjur United top spot in the 2014 West Coast Region third division league with 10 points in four games andalso unbeaten since the start of the league back in March 2014 .
They will be expecting to win their remaining fixtures to keep their chances of winning the West Coast Region third division league.
The defeat has left New Yundum at the relegation zone with a single point in three outings with a game in hand against Brufut United. They will be leaning on the hope of winning their remaining fixtures to avoid relegation.
Sifoe United drew with Brikama at the Sifoe Football Field the same day, while Busumbala United drew 1-1 with Jambanjelly United at the Farato Football Field on Sunday.
Gunjur United are now leading the West Coast Region third division league table 10 points in four games two points ahead of 2nd-place Jambanjelly United, who have snatched 8 points in four games, and Sifoe United are 3rd-place with 6 points in four games.
Busumbala United are 4th place with 5 points in four games, Brikama are mid-table with 4 points in three games with one game in hand against New Yundum, while New Yundum are still struggling with 1 point in three games with a game in hand against Brufut United.
