The incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday morning when a heavy rain, which lasted for hours, started with a strong wind that wreak the havoc on the walls of the field.
Custodians of the Gunjur Nyamina Football Field, the Gunjur Sports Committee, are soliciting support from members of the private sector, philanthropists, donors and individuals to come to their aid in order to reconstruct the fence.
According to our sources, the storm also destroyed several buildings in Gunjur and its environs.
