The
draw for the second round of the 2017 Gunjur nawettan qualifiers was held on
Sunday at the Gunjur Nyamina Football Field.
Eight
teams will be vying for four vacant places in the nawettan proper set to begin
later in the summer.
As
part of second round qualifiers matches, tomorrow, Thursday 27 July 2017, Misira
United FC will take on Blaness FC.
The
repeat of their first round clash last Tuesday in which Misira United won
Blaness FC on penalties, after their 1-1 draw in the regulation time in the
first round but Blaness FC qualify to the second round as best losers.
On
Friday 28 July 2017, Free Town FC will clash with Santos United FC; the Gunjur
Free Town-based outfit eliminated Smiling Coast Estate FC on penalties, after
their goalless draw in the regulation time in the first round.
Santos
United FC defeated Solar Enterprise FC 2-0, courtesy of striker Mbaye Touray
and Ebrima Janneh in the 16th and 24th minutes of the game respectively.
On
Saturday 29 July 2017, De Pub FC will meet Passamai.
The
Sifoe village-based outfit De Pub FC thumped Strong FC 2-0 in the first round
before second round clash with Passamai FC.
The
Gunjur-based outfit Passamai FC beat AU Summit FC on penalties following their
goalless draw in the regulation time in the first round.
Elsewhere,
Orlando FC will rub shoulders with AU Summit FC.
The
Sifoe-based outfit beat Gunjur Project FC 2-1 in the first round prior to their
second encounter with the Gunjur-based outfit AU Summit FC, who have qualified
to the second round as best losers.
