As the summer biggest football jamboree, known as Nawettan, draws nearer across the length and breadth of the country, football clubs in Gunjur are craving for training ground.
Their predicament started after Gunjur Lower and Upper Basic School banned them from using their grounds for training sessions ahead of the 2013-2014 Gunjur Summer football competition.
The training restriction placed on the clubs by the school administration was necessitated by the damage caused to the school’s facilities, such as the school fence and other valuable materials, during training sessions.
The clubs are appealing to the school authorities to allow them to use their grounds to prepare themselves for the forthcoming Nawettan season.
They are as well appealing to Gunjur Youth and Sports Development Association to come to their aid to acquire training grounds for them.
