The annual
Gunjur athletics championship is slated for the day after Tobaski 2014, at the
Gunjur Nyamina football field.
The event is set to attract spectators from Gunjur and its environs.
The reigning champions Gunjur Radio Station Jannehkoto FM, Food Step Ecko Lodge, Gunjur Police Station and others will be vying for the championship title.
The champions Gunjur Radio Station Jannekoto FM is expected to face a stiff competition this year from Food Step Ecko Lodge, Gunjur Police Station and others.
The championship was organised by the Gunjur Athletics Association (GAA) in collaboration with Gunjur Sports Committee to raise funds for the local sports and athletics association.
It would be recalled that Gunjur Radio Station Jannehkoto FM were crowned champions of the first edition after achieving 251 points, followed Sandalee Oil and Trading Company Limited in second position with 242 points. Food Step Ecko Lodge finished in third position with 214 points.
It was meant to raised funds for for the Gunjur zonal team’s participation in the 2013 Super Nawettan zonal football tournament.
