Guinean arraigned for alleged theft

One Momodou Minteh, a Guinean national, was Monday arraigned before Magistrate Abeke of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, charged with stealing.

He denied the charge and was granted court bail of D500,000 with two Gambian sureties, who must each deposit a title deed and an affidavit of means.

Hearing was then adjourned till 22 April 2013.

The charge sheet read in court stated that in February 2013, at Serrekunda, in the Kanifing Municipality, the accused, Momodou Minteh, stole US$34,000 and D80,000 from one Bafoday Minteh.
