Gunjur Sports Committee on Saturday discussed Gunjur United Football Club, Nyamina Football Field and nawettan review congress at the Gunjur Day Care Centre, as part of their drive to promote and develop sports to higher height in Gunjur and its environs.

The Committee discussed how to raise funds for Gunjur United, who are bracing up for the 2015-2016 West Coast Regional third tier set to commence in January 2016.

The committees also discussed how to start work at the Nyamina Football Field after receiving D150,000 from the Super Nawettan Organising Committee to improve their ground to standard, noting that they have received only D100,000, but are yet to receive the remaining D50,000 from the country’s community biggest football fiesta Organising Committee.

According to Gunjur Sports Committee, they are also planning to stage nawettan review congress any moment from now to review the past nawettan and try to improve on their weaknesses ahead of the new nawettan league season set for this summer.

Gunjur United finished fourth place in the 2014-2015 West Coast Regional third tier after snatching 35 points in twenty-two games, and are hoping to win their games in the league this season to fancy their chances of gaining promotion to the second tier after missing promotion to the second tier for the past two years.
