Great Alliance FC were recently crowned winners of the first edition of the late Pa Sulayman Fadera Memorial Tournament, held at the Brufut Lower Basic School Football ground when they defeated their opponents Luka FC by 2-1.
At the end of the tournament, which was solely funded by the late player's friends in the diaspora, the winners Great Alliance received a trophy and cash prize of D6, 000, while the runners-up were awarded a cash prize of D4, 500 and the leading goal scorer Omar Jobe, alias Drogba was awarded a golden boots.
Famara Drammeh, the Treasurer of Brufut Youth and Sports Committee, said the aim of the tournament was to remember the late Pa Sulayman Fadera, who has immensely contributed towards the development of sports in Brufut.
Drammeh thanked the sponsors of the tournament, noting that the committee intents to stage the tournament every year.
