Jali FM Saho, Proprietor of Graphic Giants on Wednesday donated 50 T-Shirts with a message “Team Bakau say no to violence” to the Bakau zonal team as part of his contribution.

In presenting the T-Shirts to the committee of the zone, Mr Saho said being associated with Bakau is a worthy cause.

Bakau have been printing with him for years, which was why when they approached him for support he didn’t hesitate to donate to them as his way of showing appreciation for their loyalty, he said.

Bakau is always associated with violence when it comes to the Super Nawetan and as a support of football if Bakau comes with a slogan to say no to violence all living in the community should support them to fulfill their aim, he stated, saying he was pleased with the “Team Bakau say no to violence” motto.

He thanked the new committee of Bakau who are trying to develop the area but also appealed to authorities, philanthropists who can help to upgrade the status of Bakau Park, whose condition he said he was disappointed with.

“If you look at Bakau and how many youths of Bakau have gone to Europe and are playing in big countries, obviously, I think the people of Bakau should come together and develop the Bakau Park,” he remarked.

Concluding, he wished Bakau the best of luck in the competition.

Pa Alieu Ceesay, first vice president Bakau Sports Committee, said they appreciate the gesture, adding that the message written in front of the T-Shirt is good as Bakau is always associated with violence.

“With the slogan Bakau is coming to show everybody that they would be discipline this year,” he said, adding that the message will sensitize both fans and supporters of Bakau, and would also help the fans to remember what they are wearing is to encourage them to behave themselves and not to put their zone into trouble.

He called on all to emulate Mr Saho, saying by helping the community one is helping to get the youth off the street.

They need a lot of facilities for the Park ranging from basketball, to volleyball lawns and other sports as they are not a football committee but a sports committee, he added.

They want to organize all sporting activities in Bakau but the state of the park is not allowing them, he noted.

Their aim is to win the trophy this year, he said, noting that, it was not bad beginning their campaign with a draw as they always start the competition with show pace.

He called on all Bakau supporters of the club to show maximum discipline throughout the competition but also further appealed to stakeholders, government, the municipality and everybody living in Bakau to come forward and support the committee to change the face of the park to a standard one with all required facilities.

Fatou Sanyang, a fan of Bakau who was present at the handing-over of T-Shirts, added her voice to thanking Mr Saho, saying the gesture came at the right time.

They look forward to continuing working together, she added.
