GRA bids farewell to 3 staff

The Gambia Revenue Authority (GRA) Friday 7th February 2020 bade farewell to three staff who had served the Authority for a decade in various capacities.

The three retirees include: Haddy Jeng Njie, senior finance & accounting officer, Pa Marseray Ceesay, customs manager and Muhammed S.O. Joof, customs sub officer.

The farewell, which is now a tradition at the Authority, was in recognition of their selfless services during their tenure of office.

At the farewell, Commissioner General Yankuba Darboe, thanked the trio for their selfless service to the Authority, further expressing delight that they’ve reached the statutory retirement age graciously.

Going down memory lane, his personal experience working with each of three retiring staff, Darboe commended them for their sense of stewardship and team spirit, which he appreciates greatly.

He acknowledged that the trio have advocated for patience, tolerance, diligence, peaceful coexistence and teamwork, calling on others to leave a legacy and respect for authority, which the three retirees had demonstrated.

“We will miss them but we wish them all the best and we will continue to think about them and our doors are always open for any advice or support.”

Speaker after speaker at the farewell took turns to praise, celebrate and give personal testimonies of their work and encounter with the three retiring staff.

The occasion also saw a presentation of gifts to the three retirees as a token of appreciation for their dedication to service.

The farewell, chaired by Commissioner General Yankuba Darboe was graced by senior management of GRA.
