GID warns against sale of Biometric ID forms

The Gambia Immigration Department (GID) has issued a stern warning against dubious sale of Biometric Identity Card forms to applicants.

According to the release, it has come to the notice of the Office of the Director General of the Gambia Immigration Department that some unscrupulous elements within the members of the public, have been selling Biometric Identity Card forms to applicants.

The Biometric National Identity Card Form is given at no cost and the ID card fee remains at D200.00 (Two Hundred Dalasis).

Authentication of National Identity Card can be done by any village or town Alkalo, Seyfo, senior civil servant of category 10, and above and any Justice of Peace (J.P.).

"Anybody or group of individuals caught in the practice of selling National Identity Cards forms has therefore committed an offence and will be dealt with according to law. The public are therefore advised to be vigilant on the issue and may contact the Office of the Public Relations Officer (P.R.O) for any information and clarification on 9990789 or 4227860."
