Ghana Town mosque due to be inaugurated

The Muslim community in Ghana Town Brufut in Kombo North District in the Western Region will inaugurate its newly constructed Mosque on Friday 29th January 2010.

According to the Imam of Ghana Town, Al-Hassan Bin Abubakarr, the opening ceremony will be graced by President Jammeh, the President of the Supreme Islamic Council, Muhammed Lamin Touray, Paramount Chief Alhagie Demba Sanyang, Governor of Western Region, Lamin Sanneh, Director of the African Muslim Agency, Alkalo of Brufut, Alhagie Yunus Sanno among other dignitaries.

He also disclosed that plans are at an advanced stage to build an annex for female worshippers within the premises of the mosque.

He further revealed that his mosque committee will do all efforts to promote Islam in the area.

He thanked all those who have one way or the other contributed to the successful completion of the mosque, and then appealed to donors, companies and individuals to assist in the inauguration of the mosque.
