GFF FA Cup final set for after Ramadan

The 2013-2014 Gambia Football Federation (GFF) FA Cup final is slated for after Ramadan, according to information gathered by Pointsports.

The much-anticipated Gambia Football Federation (GFF) FA final will feature an all-Banjul derby clash between Banjul United and Hawks.

Banjul United progressed to the final after beating Brikama United 4-1 on penalties, after a goalless draw in the regulation time in their semi-final game played at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium at the weekend.

Hawks, on the other hand, thumped Young Africans 3-1 in the all-Banjul derby semi-final tie played at the Independence Stadium.

The FA Cup final between Banjul United and Hawks is described by many football enthusiasts in Greater Banjul and its environs as a crunch tie.

The 2013-2014 FA Cup final will be Banjul United’s first-ever appearance in the Gambia Football Federation FA Cup final thus they will be aiming for a win against Hawks to clinch their first-ever FA Cup title.

Hawks, on the other hand, will be vying for a victory against Banjul United to lift the FA Cup title after several years of attempting to secure the trophy.

The winner for the 2013-2014 FA Cup title will clash with league champions Real De Banjul in the 2014-2015 Gambia Football Federation (GFF) division one league curtain raiser which marked the beginning of the new league season in The Gambia.
