GFF domestic league season traditional curtain raiser set for Nov 12

The 2016-2017 Gambia Football Federation domestic division one league season traditional curtain raiser is set for Monday 12 November 2016, according to news emanating from the Gambia Football Federation Secretariat in Kanifing Layout.

The 2015-2016 Gambia Football Federation domestic division one league champions Gambia Ports Authority will rub shoulders with the 2016 Gambia Football Federation FF Cup champions Brikama United in the Super Cup final at the Independence Stadium in Bakau at 5pm.

Gambia Ports Authority lost to Brikama United 2-1 in the final day of the 2015-2016 season, and will be contending for revenge against Sateyba boys come 12 November 2016, to clinch the 2016 Super Cup title.

Brikama United beat Gambia Ports Authority 2-1 in the final day of the 2015-2016 season when the ferry boys were already confirmed champions of the country’s domestic division league title since 2009-2010 season under coach Peter Bonu Johnson.

Brikama United will be competing to beat Gambia Ports Authority for the second time consecutively to claim their first-ever Super Cup title.

The Super Cup final marked the beginning of the 2016-2017 Gambia Football Federation domestic division one league season set to kick off on 19 November 2016.

Gambia Ports Authority are set to represent The Gambia in the 2017 CAF Champions league after clinching the 2015-2016 domestic division one league title.
