Mr Gassama who was recently voted African Referee of the Year 2014 by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) is expected back home after the finals of the AFCON.
“While acclaiming his contribution in African and world football, the GFF Executive, therefore, deems it fitting to give Papa a befitting and gracious welcome ceremony”, added the GFF media release made available to Pointsports yesterday.
The welcome ceremony will be co-ordinated by a sub-committee of the GFF headed by 2nd vice president Ebou Faye, according to the release.
The general public, friends and well-wishers of Bakary Papa Gassama and all football and sports lovers are urged to turn out en mass for the welcoming formalities.
Bakary Papa Gassama’s arrival would be communicated in due course, concluded the release.
