GFF 2nd Tier set to begin in January

The 2014-2015 Gambia Football Federation (GFF) second division league will get under way on 9 January 2015.

Ten teams will participate in the second division league.

Bakau giant killers Steve Biko, who won their first-ever GFF division one league title in the2012-2013 season and Academy boys Samger will be plying their trade in the second tier, following their dismal performance in the premier tier last season.

They will be coming all out to win their games in grand stylein order boost their chances of gaining promotion to the top flight next season, but will face stiff competition from Seaview, Young Africans and others for the promotion berth.

Two teams with highest number of points will gain promotion to the premier tier next season, and will aiming to stay in the top flight.

It would be recalled that Brikama outfit Bombada United and KM outfit Serrekunda United gained promotion to the country’s premier league, following their astonishing performance in the second tier last season.

They will be aiming to win their games to fancying their hopes of staying in the top flight next season, and avoid relegation to the second tier.
