GFA Reacts To Banjul Protest Letter

The Gambia Football Association has issued a solid reaction against the Banjul Sports Committee's zonal fixtures protest.

A letter written by the FA in response to Banjul's protest letter on the bias zonal fixtures has maintained the GFA's stance on the fixtures, stating that the fixture of the championship is final.

"Account is taken of your letter dated November 9, 2009 on the above captioned subject and to inform you that the fixtures of the championship is final and it would be very much appreciated if you could indicate your participation or otherwise in the second edition of Muhammed Yahya Jammeh's Perpetual Cup Competition to the Secretary- General on or before close of business on Wednesday November 11, 2009.

Please be informed that Sukuta, Bakau, Gunjur and Lamin are all disenfranchised and had to travel far and near for their scheduled championship matches and in the spirit of fair play and furthermore, the said fixtures despite the noisy protest of your representative was approved and endorsed at the meeting held on Saturday November 7, 2009 at the GFA Secretariat and attended by the eight (8) registered zones and some members of the GFA Executive Committee.

Please find attached a copy of the match schedules of the tournament for your kind attention.
