Jewel of India beat Veterans

Jewel of India won the Veterans by three wickets in Sunday's TATA Safari Motors Cricket T-20 sponsored trophy of the Gambia Cricket Association.

The 2009 league champions who batted in the second inning to chase the Veterans initial record of 106 runs in 18.1 overs cruised home with 107 runs in 14.1 overs.

Sanjeev scored 38 runs; Asif in 2 overs took 2 wickets for 18 runs.

The Veterans who batted first scored 106 runs in 18.1 overs. Abdoulie Johnson recoded in his name 45 runs and Pa Assan Faye took 3 wickets in 4 overs for 13 runs.

Jewel of India will now face Safe Way Asia XI this weekend at the MRC grounds in the three-week tournament.
