The three-day tournament will run from Friday to Sunday (30 Nov - 2 Dec 2012) with the primary objective of promoting and developing the discipline in the country.
Speaking to Pointsport yesterday, GBA Secretary General Abdoulie M.B. Jallow said the opening ceremony will be presided over by the US Ambassador to The Gambia.
He revealed that the tournament will be competed by the U-18, the over-18 and the 35-year-old basketball players.
He encouraged every basketball player to participate, saying that would be the way the discipline could be promoted in the country.
Jallow also said the tournament is organised by the GBA in collaboration with the US Embassy in their bid to develop basketball in The Gambia.
According to Jallow, the GBA will Saturday 1 December 2012 hold an extraordinary meeting at the Gambia National Olympic Committee (GNOC) Conference Hall at 10am, when and where the association will be discussing the new constitution and its verification.
