Gamtel/Gamcel Female volleyball team on Friday defeated Brikama Female Volleyball team 3 sets to 1 in a friendly game played at the Brikama Box bar Mini-stadium Volleyball Court.
The encounter was part of preparations for the 2012 Gambia Volleyball National League championship.
The tightly-contested game, which attracted volleyball lovers, fans and spectators from the West Coast Region and its surroundings, was characterised by delightful exhibition of skills and talent by both sides.
But it was Gamtel/Gamcel Female volleyball team that carried day after snatching a resounding 3 sets to 1 victory over their West Coast Region counterparts in a warm-up game.
According to the chairman of Kombo Central District Sports Committee (KCSC), Babun Fatty, the friendly game was organised to promote, develop and diversify volleyball in West Coast Region and The Gambia at large.
