Speaking at the ceremony, Basiru Darbo, director of Customer Service, thanked the people of the village, while assuring the gathering that they want to reach countrywide coverage this year.
He urged the people to continue using Gamcel, since they are rendering invaluable service to the nation and have given the villagers sim cards free of charge.
MaNyima Cham-Njie, senior marketing manager at Gamcel, explained that Gamcel wants her customers to have uninterrupted communication to make communication easy and affordable to them.
She urged the customers to patronize Gamcel for the betterment of all. “The launching is a service that will help people living around Jalokoto to be able to communicate on Gamcel line effectively.
She added that in 2013 Gamcel will concentrate on other areas to improve their network and expect more customers which will translate into more revenue. “We have other places where similar developments will take place, namely Sutukonding Village in Wuli West,” she said.
Awa Sambou Jobarteh, senior manager for sales, also thanked their customers for choosing Gamcel, adding that the cell site will help them to have easy access to communication.
Sainabou Jeng and Fatou Sanneh, both Gamcel promoters, thanked Jalokoto for the nice welcome, asking them to take Gamcel as their own.
Gamcel is here for the general public; if they earn million, 700,000% goes to the public, she said, urging them to use Gamcel for good as it is brought by President Yahya Jammeh.
The Jalokoto women groups, who hailed Gamcel for their good work, assured the gathering they would continue to use Gamcel services.
