Commonly known to his fans as Junior Don, The Gambia’s youngest singing artiste who is just 8 years is working hard to release his first album titled “Voice of The Children” in March, if all goes as planned.
Junior’s management has informed this reporter that about 10 songs have been done and are in the studio ready for release.
“What will make this album special is that Junior has just done a combination and the title is ‘Voice of the Children’, which is currently in the studio for finishing, Junior will have a combination with Tatadingding Jobarteh in a song called ‘War’ also featuring Jalimadi; so this album will be a mature album, if all goes as planned.”
The Gambia’s youngest singing artiste’s management said they have worked with some studios on the album, among them are Hakeem of Sunland Music, Shy Boy Entertainment (YMCA), Ghetto Boy Music and Mandela Records.
Junior, who is now going to grade 2 at a school in his hometown Lamin, said the children’s rights and welfare is his priority and he is dedicating his first album to his mates, the children.
The album is at an advanced stage and in March it should be launched, he said. He was quick to thank his management and his parents for their support, saying he could not have done it without their support.
Junior however used the opportunity to solicit for assistance to be able to finance the final stage of his album production that will be dedicated to his mates.
“On a final note I want to thank Mr Jaliba Kuyateh for the combination with me on children and I hope the song will serve its purpose. Many thanks to Tatadingding and Jalimadi, you guys have made my album great already,” he said.
Junior’s management also used the opportunity to inform the general public that his doors are always open to fans and his first face to face meeting with fans took place on Sunday 27 January at his house in Lamin.
