Gambia versus Sierra Leone WC Qualifier match rescheduled

Information from the Gambia Football Association’s media officer Bakary B. Baldeh has it that the proposed World Cup qualifying game between the National Women’s team of The Gambia and that of their Sierra Leonean counterparts slated for this Sunday has been rescheduled for Saturday 21 January 2012.

The change of date, Pointsport has gathered, was necessitated by the flight arrangements of the Sierra Leonean team, who booked their return flight to Freetown for Sunday 22 January 2012 at 3:30pm with Arik Airline, which was the initial match day for the first leg preliminaries.

The Gambia Football Association regrets to inform the general public that the proposed Gambia National Women U-17 team’s World Cup qualifying match against their Sierra Leonean counterparts slated for Sunday 22 January 2012 has now been rescheduled for Saturday 21 January 2012 at the Independence Stadium in Bakau at 4.30pm.

The change of date was necessitated by the flight arrangements of the Sierra Leonean team, who booked their return flight to Freetown for Sunday 22nd January 2012 at 3.30pm with ARIK airline, being the initial match day for the first leg preliminaries.

In this respect and given the longstanding relationship between The Gambia and Sierra Leone, the GFA has finally rescheduled the said game to Saturday 21st January 2012 at the Independence Stadium at 4:30pm.

In the same vein, the proposed Super Nawettan final between Lamin and Sukuta scheduled for Saturday 21st January 2012 will now be played on Sunday 22nd January 2012 at the Independence Stadium at 4:30pm.

Any inconvenience caused by this change of match dates is deeply regretted.
