The
Gambia National U-20 team has resumed intensive training for their decisive
third and final round of matches of the 2017 African U-20 Youth championship
qualifiers second leg tie with Guinea Conakry.
Coach
Omar Sise’s charges were held to a goalless draw by Guinea Conakry in the first
leg in Banjul at the weekend.
The
Darling Scorpions, who are currently camped at the Seaview Garden Hotel in
Senegambia, are embarking on intensive massive training to prepare themselves
ready for the second leg in Conakry in a fortnight’s time.
Coach
Omar Sise and his charges need a win or 2-2 draw in Conakry in the second leg
to progress to the 2017 African Youth Championship to be hosted in Zambia.
It
would be recalled that The Gambia eliminated Morocco to set third and final
round of matches of the 2017 African U-20 Youth championship qualifiers against
fellow West Africans Guinea Conakry.
On
the other hand, Guinea Conakry eliminated Ivory Coast to set date for The
Gambia in the continent’s junior biggest football fray.
