Tom Saintfiet and his charges sailed to the group phase of the continent’s bi-annual
biggest football fray qualifiers following their 3-2 penalty shootout victory
over Djibouti at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on Sunday.
They
will tussle to overwhelm the Angolans in their opening match after losing to
them 3-1on aggregate in the 2022 World Cup preliminary qualifiers last month to
fancy their hopes of making their debut in the Africa Cup of Nations since its
inception in 1957.
Meanwhile,
Gambia will host Democratic Republic of Congo in their second group match on 19
November at the Independence Stadium in Bakau before playing away to Gabon on 8
September in Libreville.
